Trail Information

Welcome back to another year of trail riding fun at Great Lakes ATV club, 2023 edition. As most of you know we have faced many challenges over the years keeping ATVing available in southern Ontario. Sometimes it’s the best of times and sometimes it’s the worst of times, but we do our very best to keep trails available near your doorstep. Update on Cathcart Currently no solution in place yet. The current climate of the local government isn’t ideal for our sport, and we are unsure if when or of the tide will shift.

Innerkip Trail Winter Update

The Innerkip trail remains CLOSED for ATV riding. Considerations for determining whether or not trail can open for winter riding: trail is frozen overall trail condition to ensure safety of riders parking lot accessibility long term forecast in favor of long cold dry period A team has been out to clear up all fallen trees from the storm at end of December, but the trail/nor the parking lot is truly accessible. When / if the trail conditions are favorable for opening a communication to all members will be sent out.

Trails closed until next riding season

Trails closed until next riding season The Innerkip trail is CLOSED to allow safe controlled deer hunt. The trail will remain closed until next riding season, unless conditions are favourable to allow us to open during the winter months. If this opening happens, we will communicate to the members. The trail closure allowes us to complete trail maintenance and allow the land to settle. The Cathcart trail remains CLOSED. Thank you all for a great year!!

Cathcart trail closed

Cathcart Trails remains closed Back in November we were contacted by Brant County due to a complaint that was received related to the Cathcart Trail System. When By-Law enforcement investigated it was determined that the existing ATV trail system is on land under zoning categories “Agriculture”, “Environmental Protection” and “Wetland”. These zoning categories prohibit the use of ATV trails under By-law 61-16 Section 4.41 h.) a track or facility for the driving, racing, or testing of motorcycles, snowmobiles, or any other motorized vehicles.
